Cameo: [Phoebe Cates] One of Joey's girlfriends. Joey is played by Kevin Kline, who is married to Cates.
Loosely based on the true story of Frances Toto and her four unsucessful attempts to kill her cheating husband, Anthony Toto, in Allentown, Pennsylvania in 1984. Anthony spent four days in bed after being drugged and shot by Frances and her friends; who spent four years in prison after pleading guilty to attempted murder.

Last week on TV, I heard about a woman who stabbed her husband twenty-seven times. And you know why? Because he refused to put the top back on the mustard jar. Twenty-seven times! Can you *imagine*?
Joey Boca:
Rosalie!
Rosalie Boca:

Joey Boca:

Joey Boca:

Continuity: When Rosalie, Nadja and Devo go out of prison and meet Joey, a clock can be seen on the wall behind them which skips from 10.45 a.m. to 10.40 a.m.
Continuity: When Joey is walking into the Police Station near the end of the movie to drop the charges against his wife and the others, he is wearing black trousers, but while he is talking to detectives Schooner and Wiley they are light colored.
Continuity: When the family is arguing at the restaurant and the waitress can't put the food on the table, she says that she'll "just come back later" and walks away with the food. But when the son interrupts the argument, saying that he hurt his finger, they suggest just eating their meals and do so even though the waitress never came back with the food.
Continuity: After the wife and mother have tried to kill Joey with sleeping pills the three are out on the front swing and Nadja's pants have a blue pattern on them with frilled-out ankles. Later when they are in the master bedroom her pants are solid black and straight.
Continuity: Joey and Rosalie are in the car, with mama Nadja outside trying to persuade Rosalie to get out of the car because it is about to blow up. As Rosalie understands and tries to shield her head there is a piece of cake/bread in her right hand. However, as the shot returns to her, it is in her mouth.
