When the crew of the Enterprise enters into a diplomatic mission, they find themselves among the ambassadors that are making the situation aboard ship a bit difficult. Meanwhile, Picard's shuttle crashes en route to the ambassador's home system and meets someone who has been marooned on the deserted planet for seven years.
