During the "interrogation" scene, Quaid introduces Turner as "Dr. Lotte Lenya," from the Rosa Klebb Institute. Lotte Lenya is the name of the actress who played Rosa Klebb in From Russia with Love (1963).
Jeff Blue introduces himself as reporter Hildy Johnson when he goes to Dynagon. This is the name of a reporter in the films The Front Page (1931), its remake The Front Page (1974), and its not-quite-a-remake His Girl Friday (1940).
'Dave Chappell' 's first film.
Jane Blue:
You brought our baby into a knife fight?
Jeff Blue:
It was a fair fight. Two of them, two of us...
Jeff Blue:
You should have seen these guys, complete amateurs. Biggest risk was I'd fall down laughing and hurt myself.
Muerte:
The bottom line... the bottom line is you're gonna die tonight... ugly.
Jeff Blue:
Look Morty, do me a favor, okay? Don't call here any more unless you want to have a serious conversation, alright?
Muerte:
Hello. Do you know who this is?
Jeff Blue:
Well, you have a very sexy voice, but, hey, I'm a happily married man.
Muerte:
You gonna die, Blue. I gonna kill you.
Jeff Blue:
[laughing] Who is this again?
Muerte:
This is Muerte.
Jeff Blue:
Oh, hi, Morty.
Muerte:
No! No Morty! MUERTE! DEATH!
Jeff Blue:
Yeah, okay, death...
Muerte:
You gonna die, Blue.
Jeff Blue:
Look, Morty, it's late. What's the bottom line?
Muerte:
The bottom line is I gonna kill you.
Jeff Blue:
Look, Morty, don't call here again unless you want to have, like, a serious conversation, okay?
Sawyer:
Isn't the baby a little young for dolls?
Jeff Blue:
It's for me. It's a post-feminist doll.
Jane Blue:
Goes to work with little sneakers on but resents it.
Sawyer:
Oh, cute baby! Boy or girl?
Jeff Blue:
Gosh, I hope so!
Muerte:
My name... is MUERTE!
Jeff:
Nice to meet you Morty, my name is Jeff.
Muerte:
My name is Muerte, my name is death!
Muerte:
My name is MORTY!
Jeff Blue:
You know what's funny? That gray van over there.
Jane Blue:
Funny ha-ha or funny interesting?
Sawyer:
You think you're smarter than we are.
Jeff Blue:
Oh, not much.
Jeff Blue:
See mommy picking the big lock? Someday, when you're a big girl, she'll teach you how to pick locks. Of course, she may still be picking *this* one.
[Several goons pull their guns on Jeff and Jane]
Sikes:
Don't make any sudden movements.
Jeff Blue:
Why not? Is there a bee on me?
Continuity: The Police Captain's orange peel is tossed onto his desk but missing in the reverse angle, then appears later.
Factual errors: The envelopes in the ATM machine are attached by a rubber band.
Continuity: When the Blues are arriving from their morning jog, they detect someone in their hotel room before they enter. As Jeff runs in to tackle the "literate burglar", Jane steps directly behind him to cover. In the next shot from inside the room, Jane is not in the background.
Continuity: When Mrs Blue is taking photos of the baby's first steps, the lighting changes significantly between the second and third photos.
Audio/visual unsynchronized: When Jeff is feeding the baby jambalaya at the beginning, Jane's mouth does not move when the line "Jeff, uh.." is played.
