This film is about a young working couple, who strive to build a home for themselves in the city of Bombay, so that they can get married. Both come from lower-middle class families and both aspire to a better future. Unfortunately, they develop different views on how to proceed, after a major setback shakes their confidence, especially in the case of the young man. Deeply involving drama does not take the easy way out.
A Bluebird Production. Lacking its own theater chain, Universal devised a 3-tiered branding system in marketing its product to independent theater owners: Red Feather (low-budget releases), Bluebird (mainstream features) and Jewel (prestige pictures produced in the hopes of commanding higher roadshow ticket prices). This system ended in late 1929.
