Director Vince Offer sued the Church of Scientology, claiming their "Celebrity Center" in Hollywood launched a smear campaign against him and the movie, labeling him a "criminal" and threatening his scientology friends in the movie business with condemnation punishment that could be lethal to their careers if they didn't write malicious reports against Offer.
