The scenes inside the the police interview room, were actually filmed inside a live police station that was due to be decommissioned. The original footage was filmed in a school nurses office, made to look like a police station.
The part of the detective was originally written for a male lead. When Zara Grose read for the part it was clear that the interplay between Mr Grey and the Detective worked much better between male and female parts.
