Mini Biography
Matthias Schweighé°‚er is considered as one of the most promising young German actors. Born into a family of actors, he soon knew he belonged in front of a camera, too. His parents, the theatre actors Gitta and Michael Schweighé°‚er, often took him to some of their rehearsals and later he participated in the drama group of his school "Gymnasium" in Chemnitz (Saxony), Germany. After the "Abtiur" he went to Berlin, where he is still living along with his girlfriend. His first role in a cinema film was "Raus aus der Haut" (1997), a film by Andreas Dresen. Other projects followed, among others the highly recommended movie for children "Spuk aus der Gruft". He spent a year training at the famous "Ernst-Busch-Schauspielschule" in Berlin. He chooses his roles carefully, which distinguishes him from many other actors.
