Founded in 1990, The Internet Movie Database (IMDb) became a member of Amazon.com in 1998. It is the most authoritative, systematic, comprehensive movie website. It collects over 420,000 films & TV programs and more than 1,600,000 personal information from the people in the world movie industry. Its rating system is quite popular and with it, members can cast their votes or add comments to any movie. It adopts a ten-point system in which the 1-10 scale should be read as 1 being "awful", 10 being "excellent", so a vote of 5 could be an "OK, but nothing special" opinion. Top 250 Movies and Bottom 100 Movies are based on the votes given by users. To improve the reliability, only votes from regular voters are considered. It is a pity that some top rated movies can't enter Top250 due to the low votes. However, the rankings from IMDB are still of greatest authority and entertainment.
