Based on events that occurred in 1985 at R.L. Paschel High School in Fort Worth, Texas. The gang was the Legion of Doom. Actual names and locations are not used in the movie because once incarcerated, the members of the Legion of Doom were prohibited from doing books or movies about the gang. The name of the real gang was Legion of Doom.
