Some of the scenes were built on a set inside the Tucson Convention Center. The Catamarca Desert is specifically located in Argentina. The enemy jets are portrayed by a Swedish jet fighter, a J35 Draken ("dragon"). The "Scorpion" attack helicopters are actually Hughes MD-500D Defenders
