Writer Harry Mason is taking his daughter Cheryl to the seaside resort town of Silent Hill for a vacation. However, as he is nearing the town he swerves to avoid a figure standing in the middle of the road and crashes his car. Awaking, he finds that his daughter is missing and heads towards the town to find her. There he finds that hell and Earth are becoming one in Silent Hill.
