The string of bad cards which Tony Leung gets after he gets "hyptonized" by Chow Yun-fat (who palms away the top card of the stacked deck, destroying the stack) is a joke. There is no real way to switch cards like that. It was meant to serve a warning to those who went to (or planned to) go to underground casinos (which thrive in both China and Taiwan) that the player risked being cheated.
