Original director Robert J. Flaherty became ill and died shortly after filming Gen. Douglas MacArthur in Chicago on April 26, 1951, a wet and windy day. The sequence was not included. The roller coaster ride was filmed several times using "short ends" and the complete circuit contains two skilfully edited takes. It was directed by Michael Todd Jr..
