The F.B.I agent Mahone decides to use L.J to get to Michael and Lincoln by cutting a deal with him and making him trick the two fugitives into revealing their location. Michael and Lincoln decide there's only one thing they can do, rescue L.J in a daring raid at the county jail. Only one problem though, Mahone is personally guarding L.J and won't let him out of his sight.
Elijah Wood (Sandy), was scripted to have his first onscreen kiss in the film. They shot the scene, but it was cut out of the final movie.

Factual errors: Sharks are unable to make sounds.
Continuity: Sandy gains shoes when knocked off the wharf into the water.
Continuity: When Sandy is swimming underwater with Flipper after being knocked off the dock while working, his watch and armbands flip hands during one scene with his watch on the right wrist and armbands on the left.
Continuity: On the dock when Flipper first comes to meet Sandy. Sandy puts his GameBoy down to see Flipper. In the next scene, a second later, he is still holding the GameBoy.
Continuity: Shot flipped horizontally on the Sheriff's boat; the writing on Kim's shirt briefly reads backwards.
Miscellaneous: The GameBoy that Sandy is playing has nothing on the screen.
Continuity: Sandy's shirt on board the boat while searching for toxic waste.
Continuity: When Porter picks Sandy up from the ferry (when Sandy has run away), Sandy's wearing sneakers. Then on Porter's boat, he's wearing sandals. And when he runs onto the pier at Porter's, he's back to wearing sneakers.
Continuity: When Sandy is awaken by Flipper on the dock, by Flipper splashing him, his hair goes from barely wet to soaked.
Revealing mistakes: When Sandy first sees Flipper in the water and follows him along the dock, he walks on the same section of dock twice.
Continuity: When Sandy hears Flipper he walks down the dock to find him. While he has the towel, his hair is blowing wildly with the wind. In the next shot there is no sign of wind at all.
