This special was inspired by Charles Schultz after watching the movie Flashdance. Videotape releases of this leave out the five freeze-frame shots, the spinning dance floor, and the flipping reverse frame during Snoopy's big solo dance. Snoopy's big dance was partially inspired by John Travolta's dance in Saturday night Fever. Desiree Goyette and Joey Scarbury sang the theme song.
