When Jessica's computer consultant Paula Raynor, who has no family, is only identified in hospital after a car accident by her coordinates, our sleuth takes an interest in the case, as Paula's boy friend John Bondy who apparently died in the crash soon turns out to be a murdered young undercover cop who was just assigned to a police team that recently suffered several serious setbacks presumed to be the work of a rotten cop.
