Marlene Villafane opened this episode for the Midday Show in Australia with 'Summertime'. She was touring with the Living Arts production of 'Porgy and Bess' that summer in Sydney playing the role of Clara, and the Midday Show, of course, fully aware of the show having just started it's run there, had invited her to sing the show's most famous opening number. With Mic in hand, she performed gleefully.
