Wes Huntress was a senior scientist at NASA's Jet Propulsion Laboratory when he designed and programmed this game. He later went on to become NASA Associate Administrator for Space Science. During his time with NASA, Huntress was responsible for the nation's planetary exploration program from 1990 to 1998. Afterwards, he became director of the Planetary Society.
