Based on Hemingway's semi-autobiographical Nick Adams stories, the earliest of which appeared in the United States in "In Our Time" (1925). These stories, along with his first novel "The Sun Also Rises," are generally considered by literary critics such as Harold Bloom to be the best expression of Hemingway's genius.
