Bridgewater State College (in Bridgewater, Massachusetts) substituted for Harvard during a riot scene. Harvard officials felt filming the scene would be too disruptive during exams. The Cafeteria in the Walker Memorial Building at Massachusetts Institute of Technology (MIT) substituted for a Harvard dining hall. The original director of this film was to be John Korty.
