This documentary traces the steps of the Shaw family, from brothers Tom and Buckley, who still live off the land scraping by as best they can to Little Buck, Buckley's five year old son, who rides with them when they do thier herding. There's Linda Shaw, Tom's wife, who also works to help support the family. And Charles, the twenty-year-old son of Tom and Linda, who knows only too well the problems he will be faced with, if he chooses to remain in the family business of ranching and farming.
