The castle in the story is called "Castillo Maldito". It means "Castle of the Damned", or "Evil Castle". Robert Ryan's screen debut "The Ghost Breaker" opened on Broadway in New York City, New York, USA on 3 March 1913 and closed in May 1913 after 72 performances. The opening night cast included H.B. Warner who also starred in the 1914 film adaptation of the play.
