Tanya Blount is originally from Maryland, near the Washington DC area. After graduating from high school, she attended Morgan State University, where she majored in psychology. She toured with the MSU choir and even sang for Stevie Wonder in California. Her younger sister later followed her footsteps and attended Morgan as well.
