Steve Broussard was born in Abbeville, Louisiana. He moved with his parents to the New Orleans area in Port Sulphur and Braithwaite in the mid fifties & early sixties, then back to Abbeville. Graduating from Abbbevile High School in 1969 & then graduating from The University of Southwestern Louisiana (now called University of Louisiana Lafayette) in 1973 with a B.A. in City & Regional Planning.
