Born in Atlanta, Georgia, Mark B. Perry graduated Magna Cum Laude from the University of Georgia with a journalism degree in radio/television/film. Mark Perry was supervising producer of the TV series "Law & Order" (1990), "Moon Over Miami" (1993) and "Picket Fences" (1992). He was executive producer of the TV series "Party of Five" (1994), "Push" (1998), "Time of Your Life" (1999), "Pasadena" (2001), and "First Years" (2001).

Before "The Wonder Years" he wrote scripts for the TV series "Law & Order" (1990). He also wrote for "Northern Exposure" (1990), "Picket Fences" (1992), "Moon Over Miami" (1993), "Party of Five" 1994), "Push" (1998), "Time of Your Life" (1999), "Pasadena" (2001) and "First Years" (2001).
