Jerry Katell was born in New York City and received degrees from M.I.T. and Stanford Business School. He had a long and successful career as a real estate developer before he started his acting career. His father was an actor and perfomed in productions of Fiddler on the Roof, Music Man, and Oklahoma, amongst others.
