Was raised just outside of Boulder, Colorado. Graduated summa cum laude with a degree in political science from Pepperdine University. Later earned an MFA in Film Producing at the Peter Stark Producing Program at the USC School of Cinema-Television where he met his creative partner (and future wife), Dara Resnik.
