Becki grew up in Guilford, Connecticut doing musicals and plays at local theaters. After studying abroad in Europe and South America, she graduated from UPENN with a degree in European history. She then moved to New York City and began doing television commercials. After writing and producing a series of one-woman shows, she was asked to write and host a celebrity interview show on TBS called Movie Junky.
