Born in Newark, New Jersey, Andrea attended School of Performing Arts High School in Montclair New Jersey. Her father, Alfred Nittoli, is an actor and a songwriter. He wrote Here's to the Band recorded by Frank Sinatra. Her mother is also a songwriter. She wrote Lovin Things recorded by the Grass Roots.
