Alex Meneses was born Alexandra Estella DeAnna Meneses, on the south side of Chicago. She is of Mexican descent on her father's side, and Ukrainian descent on her mother's. While in high school, she studied acting at Chicago's Second City Improvisational Theater, during summer vacations.
